The safety of a quarter of
The Territory Police Minister Paul Henderson attended the opening of the $7.4m station on the corner of
“The new station delivers on an election commitment to establish a modern, state-of-the-art facility to help keep our streets safer,” Mr Henderson said.
“Casuarina Police Station covers 20 suburbs and services more than 53,000 people, making it an integral part of our policing presence in
“The previous station was more than 30 years old and not adequate to cater for our growing population
“This Government is committed to driving down crime and anti-social behaviour and delivering safer neighbourhoods.
“I’m delighted we now have a modern facility to support our officers.”
The new station includes:
Work at the site will continue to finish the carpark and landscaping.
Mr Henderson said the new Casuarina Police Station builds on other policing initiatives, including the successful Casuarina Police Beat and an extra 341 police officers across the NT since 2003.
